Our little Rock Star!

Just a quick update. Emily really seems to like her new home at Genesis. The days have really been uneventful, she is just resting, eating, and growing! She is up to 4 lb 15 oz. WOW. It is just amazing how far she has come.

Yesterday Emily breastfed for the first time, and both the nurse and lactation consultant said she did an A+++ job. Originally they were only going to let her try it once a day, but she did so well (and didn't have any problems with breathing or heartrate while doing it) that they are going to let her breastfeed twice a day! She really seems to like it. When she wakes up for her feedings, she is rooting around, opening her mouth and licking with her tongue. She is ready for more I think!

Today they reduced her oxygen rate to 0.5 liters. This is part of the slow process of weaning her off the oxygen. She is tolerating it well so far.

I'll leave you with a couple of new pics from yesterday. Isn't she getting HUGE? :)
